The case for keeping Julia Gillard

The Australian Independent Media Network

“So why am I the last columnist to give them a fighting chance? Well, Julia Gillard has never been given a fair go” (Robert Macklin).

This post has been reproduced with the kind permission of journalist and author, Robert Macklin from his article The case for keeping Julia.

It seems I’m the only columnist left in Australia who thinks Julia Gillard and her excellent government have a reasonable chance of winning the September 14 election.

Call me quixotic if you like, but I just can’t believe that my fellow Australians would toss out a government that has done us such sterling service for an opposition led by Tony Abbott who threatens to undo so much of what we’ve achieved these last five years; and who wants to set us on a path to “austerity” that has done such appalling damage in Europe and the US.

Consider the Government’s achievements:…

It’s Like Talking to a Drunk

Have you ever talked to a drunk, someone who is very drunk, when you yourself are stone cold sober? That is what it is like talking to an LNP supporter, or an LNP MP for that matter. No matter how many facts you present, they counter with absolute nonsense. They spout forth untruths, downright lies and rubbish as if it were a dictum. Then they have the nerve to tell you that what you have said is all lies. The nerve of them! You can talk logic until you end up going nuts with frustration, but the other will not budge an inch.

They are so rooted in their beliefs that they cannot see reason or logic. Guess what this means? They have been brainwashed by MSM et al. Rupert Murdick has every reason to do everything in his power to get Tony Abbott elected, as Abbott would find it an honour to be backed by Rupert Dickhead, Oooops did I just write that? There are some very clever dicks. Abbott is clever. I’ll give him that, but it is not an attribute to be admired. If Tony Abbott gets elected, he must prepare himself for a backlash and possible violation of Australian standards. Of course Rupert Murdick wants to be able to control the PM, which he hasn’t a hope in hell with Julia Gillard. Julia Gillard is strong and tough. Abbutt is weak and pathetic. ONLY a brainwashed populous would find this man equitable and represent the good of the country. This man if he wins the next election will be an imposter. Now is it possible that people in high places may be brainwashed also? Could judges be brainwashed for instance? There are paedophile judges living in this country of Australia, according to an escort agency. They come to a dominatrix to be whipped. Now why would this be? Are they feeling so guilty they are compelled to seek punitive action for their sins of their own volition? And what sins might they be? Paedophilia? Child sex abuse? Physical abuse of a child? Rape? We don’t tend to think of judges in these terms. If I was writing this in any number of countries, I would be arrested. So may as well while I can. Abbott cannot be trusted on privacy laws or security on ANY level. If he wins with a landslide, he then has a mandate to do whatever he likes. We will then have George W Abbott the Idiot. I know I can write this about him, he said on TV that people have to take insults on the chin.

George W Abbott will change the very nature of this country. By that I mean Australia will change on these levels. 1. Financial and economic. 2. Farming practices will radically change. Small farms will be bought out by huge conglomerations, much of which will be owed by China. He will not have any Mandarin speaking MP’s to advise him, and he will constantly have foot in mouth disease. CSG mining will go ahead and the artesian water will become polluted. I have it on good authority that underground water supplies are already beyond repair now as I write due to LNP State government approvals of CSG mining not only where it shouldn’t go, but before a proper environmental impact studies has been made. There is still hope for some areas and Tony Bourke has made it harder for mining companies to get licences.

When everything goes pear-shaped, the mass cry will be “it’s all Labor’s fault. It’s all their lies that got us into trouble. W#e told you they lied.” It will be a mass cry from MSM also, especially from Rupert Murdick. And isn’t this great news to sell his flagging news print? 3. We will become a 3rd World country, as poverty levels will rival per capita that of Nepal or Bhutan. There will be beggars in the streets and homeless in all sections of every town. There will be NO growth what so ever and you know what that means. 0 growth is stagnation. – 0.02% = recession and – 3% = depression. Then he will go against all economists’ advice and will print money like never before. Just you wait and see. 4. Hospitals will close, just as long as he is healthy, bugger anyone else. 5. Aged care will be a disaster. 6. Climate change will be a dirty word for which if you utter there may be a consequence. His promise to plant trees to counter-act climate change, (which secretly he still thinks is bunkum) will not eventuate. He will deem it too costly to implement.

The State governments will all get less, while 7. GST is sure to go up by 50%. Be prepared. Expect this and if it doesn’t happen you can thank your lucky stars, as that’s all you will have going for you. Inflation will escalate and go out of control. At this point I would expect Julia Gillard to go to the Governor General and apply to have Abbott removed as PM and to have herself re-instated to her rightful position. Every LNP who had lied, misrepresented the truth, distorted or exaggerated would be removed from their position in Parliament. They should NOT be allowed to remain on the back bench. They are useless human beings and a waste of space as it is, let alone degrading Parliament the way they do. These lying LNP MP’s have degraded Parliament to rock bottom. Never in history has Parliament degenerated into such a pit of vipers ready to poison and strike at any opportunity unprovoked. I partially blame the Speaker, all of them, for letting this behaviour escalate to criminal proportions. Just as the Pope allowed cover-ups in the Catholic Church, which should be deemed criminal, so should what the Speaker allowed many times in Parliament be deemed unlawful. An MP cannot lie in Parliament, just as you cannot get away with lying in court. That is perverting the course of Justice. So a lie in Parliament should be perverting the course of Parliament. JAIL!

Julia Gillard as reinstalled PM should introduce new laws prohibiting lies to be reported as truth and severe punitive action would result. There should be extreme deprivation of liberty at least. For they have taken an extreme liberty in their actions so far and should be an offense for which they could be sued. Yes I sound gloomy and I’m really a happy person, but it is the reality of the above that has done it to me. There is NO hope for the future with Abbott at the helm. He will be like a ship’s captain trying to steer his ship without a rudder. A huge problem that the next PM has to tackle without funds to do so, is the debriefing of all the brainwashed souls MSM mesmerised. How do we know that subliminal messages are not being injected into news items? We don’t and I wouldn’t put it past them, if they thought they could get away with it. Someone should opt to dissect some news tapes to check anywhere where it is suspect.

If you do not share my views and you are illogical and unreasonable it is a waste of time commenting, as I won’t approve your comment, unless it has some merit. I may use it as an example for instance of ignorance and lack of logic.

ABC RN Life Matters May 31st 2013 My Comment

I posted this comment on Life Matters, however it was moderated and not posted. They have done this before and at other times they have edited my work. The time they edited it they told me it was sexually explicit, which it was not. That program was about sex, but apparently you can’t comment on it.

The topic that got me banned/blocked was Can You Honestly Say You are not Racist? And it was all about Adam Goodes complete with photo.

I didn’t think that what the girl said was necessarily racist. If I were to call Tony Abbott an ape, would that be racist given that I am white? I think a racist remark must be specific to the race. If the word boong (don’t know if I spelled it right as I have never used the word), but I believe that is specific to Aborigines. A race must not be blamed for the behaviour of one person or a small group of people, no matter how bad that group is. I don’t think one should ever use a word that is not applicable to humans, such as ape, cow, dog or rat. I think ‘fool’ is acceptable as long as it is not used when talking to children.

Personally I love the differences of other races. I am widely travelled and love most going to countries where the culture is totally different from my own. I have friends of all races including Aborigine. I like people who are friendly and honest regardless of what race they are. Also I may dislike people who behave in an antisocial manner, who are not honest or who personally treat me poorly or unfairly; and that also will be regardless of race.

One caller said he was terrified of being called a racist when he calls out at a footy match, “you useless bastard.” Well my advice to him is, if he is so terrified then don’t shout out at all.

So much attention has been placed on this one incident, yet our Prime Minister has had a sandwich thrown at her and that’s evidently fine. Did she make a huge fuss about it. Would it have been racist if the boy was not white? And did the PM seem offended? Her remark was that she thought the boy must have thought she was hungry. How good natured is that. I have been discriminated against my gender. It’s annoying, but I don’t make a huge issue of it. If someone called me an ape I’d reply, “talking about yourself are you?” and laugh.

And one last point and very important to me, I take exception to Andrew Jakubowicz’s words when he said, “when the Liberals and the Coalition come to power at the end of the year.” How dare he! He obviously listens to too much ABC24, Rupert Murdock and Fairfax. He has said this as if the Governor General had deposed Julia Gillard and the ALP and was installing the LNP at the end of the year. There will be an election in September and after that we will know who will lead this country and God help us if it is Tony Abbott. This may be off topic, but it is in response to your guest’s throw away remark which I take umbrage over.

This was a post that was not moderated. Which do you think is the most insensitive? What do you think it was about my comment that got the whole of it moderated? And guess what? It appears that I am unable to comment at all now as the comment box has gone BLACK.

Hi Natasha, I actually thought the comment was more about what Adam Goodes looked like, we are always saying in our family that he looks Neanderthal. Maybe because I wasn’t born in Australia, but I didn’t realise that ape was a racist term. Thanks. Good conversation.

I should also mention that Geraldine Dougue said the word Fuck on radio this morning. It seems some people can get away with anything and others like me can’t get away with very much at all.

On our economy and voting in September

On our economy and voting in September:

There are a number of developed, commodity exporting countries with balance sheets in the black such as Sweden, Finland, Norway and Chile according to Alan Austin, freelance writer formally of ABC radio. Our place in the world is just behind these top 4 countries. So what does that say about Australia? Give me one logical reason why anyone would concentrate on where we were from the bottom up, placing us just ahead of Europe? I’m not getting into GDP ratios here, Alan Austin has covered that and many people can’t comprehend that sort of thing. Here is his link:

But here is a perfect example of the glass half full or half empty analogy. As far as the ALP are concerned the glass is always as full as it can be and sometimes it is half full. But for LNP MP’s the glass is either half empty or it is drained completely empty. Or if there is anything it is only dregs.

Anyone contemplating voting for Abbott at the next election, seriously, has not done their homework. Such persons are those that only listen to Main Stream Media. You are losers, I’m sorry to say. You are not in possession of the facts. MSM has screwed with your mind and you have been sucked in. If you listen to rubbish you will hear rubbish. Learn to recognise it as such. If you are an Andrew Bolt follower, immediately I know that you have no common sense. Andrew Bolt is not genuine and an intelligent person knows that. His rants are purely to inflame society. Those who keep up with truth if they even hear a snippet of this nonsense know that it is all said with an agenda in mind. Only the ignorant can’t see this or understand what is really going on.

I went out with my daughter and her friend yesterday and she was complaining about compulsory voting. She said that politics was too confusing for her and she had no idea who to vote for come September. Now this girl who is 30 years old is intelligent, but other things occupy her mind, she has young children. I let her talk before letting her hear my opinion. She said that she knew she shouldn’t vote for Abbott, as he will set the country backwards and she wants the NBN; but she said that she couldn’t bring herself to vote for Julia Gillard as she doesn’t like her and The Greens will never govern, so what’s the point in voting for them. This was my chance to jump in, so I asked her, “what is it about Julia Gillard that you don’t like?” She answered that she didn’t know, she just dislikes her. So I asked her, “if you were drowning and someone dived in to save you, but you didn’t like that person and didn’t have a valid reason, would you allow them to save you?” And she answered in the affirmative. So I continued with, “You don’t always need a reason to dislike someone you have met, as people can give off negative vibes, but you do need a valid reason to dislike a person that you have never met.” Then she said, “well I don’t like her voice.” So I went back to the drowning analogy and asked if it would matter what the person’s voice sounded like that was saving her life. She laughed embarrassedly and admitted that it wouldn’t matter in that case.

So you see it is all about personality, character, clothing, hair colour and style. Only about 15% of the population will vote for a Party based on policies; maybe 20% at the most. Green voters definitely vote Greens based on policies, but I’m just wondering now if the Green vote has dropped off since Bob Brown left politics. Personally, I like Christine Milne and I have voted for the Greens on and off. They don’t get my vote when there is a threat to my very existence. Tony Abbott is a threat to my existence. I am nearly 71, healthy at this point in time, but there may come a time when I may need some help. I am quite certain that I cannot rely on Tony Abbott for that. The ALP has already proved to me that they are willing to help those who are not in a position to help themselves. Last year we has 4 floods during January, February and March and a huge crater was gouged out in my driveway. I was stranded for over a month as there was no way off my property other than by walking. I live 6 kilometres from the school bus. I called the SES after the initial drama had ended with the floods and they put me in touch with the correct authority dealing with the matter. I wrote a letter stating my case and within a week I received a phone call. A very nice man came the following week by appointment and assessed the situation. I had a torn meniscus at the time and was on crutches. He told me to get 3 quotes for the job. One was for $1,700 and he lived a few kilometres away. The next was for $3,650 and he lived ¾ of an hour away and the third was for $10, 500 and he lived in town and an hour away. This man contacted all three and came to the conclusion that the $3,650 one was the best for the job and he was quite right. I have spent various amounts on my driveway over the 34 years I have lived here. In 2007, I spent $11,100 doing up my driveway and it was the worst of all the jobs I have ever had done. This year we had 6 floods and my driveway is still in excellent condition. Going back to this department now. I posted the bill the day Adrian finished the job and I called him 3 weeks later to see if he had been paid. He told me a cheque had arrived within the week. Now going back years ago when Howard was in government I had a problem with my creek. Huge boulders had blocked my passage and I was stranded. You had to go through DoCS back then. I wrote over a hundred letters. It took 6 months for anyone to come and assess the situation. I was told to get 3 quotes and the cheapest one was chosen. I got the job done and posted the bill that day. They had to wait months before being paid. I had to be on to them every week to make sure they got paid. How ridiculous having DoCs dealing with this type of thing.

I see Julia Gillard as an efficient, capable, strong, intelligent, long suffering, politically savvy doer. She does not waffle on about unimportant things. She has the amazing ability to get legislation passed through a hostile opposition. That is a miracle in itself. To not see these attributes about her is being blind to truth. To not vote for her because she has red hair, an odd voice or wears unflattering jackets is not only quite absurd, but downright unintelligent. I should add here that I have not agreed with everything the Government has decided on, but I have not agreed with anything the LNP has proposed.

Do not be scared of a deficit. It is not possible for countries to remain in surplus at all times. When there is a crisis on, such as the GFC, two things need to happen. The economy needs to be stimulated and stimulated judiciously, but also all waste needs to be cut out. So there need to be cut backs where nothing of importance is affected. If there is no surplus to work with, then debt is acceptable. Just as you may have a credit card which you know is under control. My personal credit card went up to nearly $4,000 a few years ago. I have a limit of $15,000. But I am now under $200, so my debt was always manageable. The Government debt at the present time is manageable. The P.I.G countries in Europe are not. Most of Europe is struggling because of bad management and corruption. But refugees have played a major part in their downfall.

Haters want to hate

The Australian Independent Media Network

NDISParliamentIt’s clear Australian voters aren’t rational, but do they have to be so blatantly mindless as well? When I say voters, I’m currently referring in this context to the people recently polled by ReachTEL and whose responses contributed to this headline on

Voters trust Opposition Leader Tony Abbott most to deliver NDIS, poll reveals

I had to read this a couple of times before I believed what I was seeing. The figures in the article state that 57% of the poll’s respondents trust Tony Abbott to deliver the NDIS, more so than they trust Julia Gillard. Surely, even someone completely rusted onto the Liberal party, even Peta Credlin, even Gina Rinehart, even Rupert Murdoch, even Alan Jones, even Tony Abbott himself must see the inanity in this poll result. The NDIS is Labor’s policy. It was the work of Bill Shorten, and only with Julia Gillard’s support…

Why we can’t say ‘good bye’ to MSM

Why we can’t say ‘good bye’ to MSM

The problem lies here in. We still read and watch MSM, carefully chosen for the subject matter of course, to keep up with what diabolical story they are making up next. We, the sane and intelligent people then need to refute that nonsense. Otherwise who else will? Parts of MSM seem to be believable, such as 4 Corners on ABC. Watching it right now and so far it has been in formation only, which I appreciate. Very informative and freaking me out about cyber warfare. Very disturbing and I believe it all, yet on other ABC programs, the journalist is often biased towards someone I consider to be a liar, feels superior to women, no polices worth anything of value and they will not be ALP MP’s.
QandA is on now. Gay bishop, Gene Robinson is saying that Jesus may have been gay. Well this episode is at least entertainment. IPA is funded by? Possibly Big Tobacco. And contradicting themselves…. Atheist made a good point. Conversation about sodomy. Diverse opinions. Woah, Fred Nile has been challenged, but was not addressed properly. Atheist professor Lawrence Krauss is saying that Islam is as ridiculous as Christianity. Amanda Vanstone says we must all make friends with Muslims and Africans and go out to dinner with them. Fred Nile said “love your enemy”. How can one possibly love an enemy? If you love them, then they will at least be a friend. Once you know that you love someone, it is impossible for them to be an enemy. Lawrence should have said his conscience. This episode has been weird. I’m a Gnostic teacher and all this is nonsense. Susan Ryan seems lost and out of her depth. The mistake from Gnostic knowledge, is about Fred Nile’s concept of God and is that he thinks the Creator God of all that is, is one and the same god as is depicted in the Christian Bible. The god of the bible if even exists, is a very lesser god of which there are millions. No one can have a relationship with God. And also not possible to have a relationship with the Christian god, or any god for that matter. And you cannot love someone you do not know and never met. When a person thinks that god has spoken to them, it can only be vivid imagination or hallucination. Euthanasia. I have a solution for that. Costs nothing and very easy to do. And legal.

@abciview Q&A : Lawrence Krauss, Gene Robinson, Fred Nile, Amanda Vanstone & Susan Ryan

I like to listen to politicians talking and that I can do watching any of the MSM TV news broadcasts. Then I check how other MSM have interpreted it. More often than not they have twisted, misrepresented and invented a new pseudo truth. Now this is what happens when MSM interviews an ALP MP. However when interviewing an LNP MP they behave in a completely different way. When an LNP MP spews forth a nonsense, they praise it like it’s a miracle or some profound utterance. Rupert Murdock’s News LTD venerates the leader of the Opposition and all other LNP MP’s. Now they are so transparent as in that anyone with a brain can know that an intelligent man (Rupert Murdock) will only do something like this for ulterior purposes. Therefore if it is for ulterior motives, there must be an opposite that is closer to the truth. Anyone who uses their mind mindfully will realise there is only one point to reading MSM and that is to refute it either on Twitter or Facebook, or like me and blog about it. Anyway, I do believe Rupert Murdock is clinging to straws. He has a stinking reputation, so his influence surely can’t last much longer.

Cardinal George Pell to give evidence at Child Abuse Inquiry
The Victorian premier, Dr Denis Napthine, has called on George Pell to be open and honest with the public about the church’s handling of child sexual abuse. Why would an arch bishop need to be told this? Surely if he is worth his weight in salt, he will know that he HAS to be open and honest. Well I watched part of the inquiry and in my opinion he was unempathetic towards victims and has an ice cold heart. His apology and sympathies were acted and rehearsed. He is not a man of integrity or valour. He is guilty of unlawful privilege, meaning he got away with all cover-ups though his position. But a crime is a crime, no matter if the Pope, Queen or Prime Minister commits it.

Every single time I listen to the news on ABC24 I am infuriated about something. For instance it is very annoying to hear a reporter saying that the dollar is struggling to gain ground when it is already above parity. We do NOT want the dollar to be above parity, so anyone with a brain should know that parity or a bit below is the very best place for our dollar AUD. Anyone who uses the word ‘struggle’ here is ignorant and making a big deal out of nothing. If the dollar hadf kept below parity for the past year Ford may not have closed down in Australia.

Did anyone hear the venom spewed forth from Julie Bishops mouth in Parliament this afternoon? She went on and on. I have come to the conclusion that all LNP MP’s have got together and made a list of vitriolic words that they must use whenever addressing parliament or the press. Because the same wording gets recycled over and over. Let’s see, shambolic government, diabolical mess, incompetent, nothing achieved over past 5 years, liar, broken promises, even when no promise was ever made. All are blatant untruths.

Paedophiles and the Catholic Church

Paedophiles and the Catholic Church

I write about subjects that I want people to think about. I am not a facts and figures person. It doesn’t matter to me if 3,647 people were raped by priests, Cardinal, Bishops and the like or that it is 4,238 people raped. What matters is that many children were raped or molested. That every child has a voice and that every perpetrator is found guilty and suffers as much as they have caused the suffering of others. This will never happen because the children never had a voice and only now as adults are they coming forward, often at the encouragement of wives and friends. The perpetrators are now mostly old men, so no amount of punitive action will compensate. If such a thing had happened to a child of mine, I’d gladly string the perpetrator up by his penis and scrotum; similar to what they did to Mussolini. Harsh? I don’t think so. But I wouldn’t kill him.

I don’t only have the Catholic Church in my sights, but it is the Catholic Church that makes me feel the sickest because they have known right from the top what was going on and priests were merely moved to another diocese to perpetrate again and again. The child got nothing or a rebuke. It is beyond my understanding that anyone can have any faith in this religion. Sure there are some priests doing some good things, but you don’t have to be a priest to do good things. Anyone can help people in need. If you want to believe in Jesus, you can without being a Catholic. If you want to pray, you can without being a Catholic. Anyone can pray and if you believe it is doing some good, then keep on praying. I pray myself, just not to the god of Israel. I’m Australian, why would I pray to the god of Israel? Why would anyone pray to the god of Israel, other than the Jews? But many Christians hate Jews. Why is that? Why bother to be Christian and hate anyone? There is no one in the world that I hate. I dislike some people. I dislike George B*sh. I dislike Islamic Fundamentalists. I dislike people who torture people and animals. I dislike liars and of course I dislike paedophiles. But Christians actually kill people they hate, without even knowing the person personally. This is a very difficult thing to understand for a peace loving non-Christian. The Catholics kill Protestants in Ireland. You may well point out that Protestants also kill Catholics. Anyone but me think this is very weird when both are Christians? Both read from the same bible, worship the god of Israel and both are supposed to follow the Ten Commandments; one of which is: Thou Shalt NOT kill. Not, Thou Shall Kill thy enemy.

The Pope, Cardinals, Bishops and priests set themselves as superior to their followers and congregation. They behave piously in the church building, sanctimoniously preaching nonsense that no one can contradict in their pews. They tell their congregation how they must behave, as if they can’t work this out for themselves. From time to time I attend a church service just to see if things have changed. But sadly they have not. I went to the Anglican church (Cathedral) in Sydney last and the sermon the Arch Bishop gave was about as stupid as anything I have ever heard. He said that ALL fathers are bad fathers. He repeated this several times, I think it was 8 times in all. Was he judging all fathers on his own fathering skills? He doesn’t know all fathers, how absurd. I wrote to him challenging him on his sermon. I asked him if he had met every father in the world, or even in Sydney. I asked him how he could judge every father without knowing them personally. Did I receive a reply. NO!

No, because he had been called out on his stupidity and false assumptions. He didn’t have the guts to reply and I only wish I had had the guts to stand up in front of the congregation and say my piece. I told my daughter that I was going to stand up and interrupt him, but she begged me not to. I wish I had asked her to wait outside and gone ahead anyway. Why do these miserable women need to be told that their husbands are bad fathers? How did the fathers in the congregation feel being told they are bad fathers, without any proof or justification? But I bet all those good fathers were back in church the very next Sunday like robots. I found a congregation who can’t think for themselves, who sit there praying trite prayers, singing the same old hymns and I wonder if they ever think that their god of Israel ever gets sick of hearing the same old prayers and hymns week after week, month after month, year after year, decade after decade and millennia after millennia. Or don’t they think past the mundane?

Every time I go to a church service, regardless of the denomination, I am shocked at the level of ignorance. I am shocked at the amount of money spent on maintenance of the church and of the clergy; the little they have to do to earn their keep and the criticism of their congregation. When does a priest ever say, “well done so and so, you have been a great mother, or a great humanitarian?” When has a priest ever recognised a woman to be his superior? When will the Roman Catholic Church ever recognise women as wise women, wiser than they? How can women go on century after century, right into the 21st century, perpetuating a patriarchal society and the myth that men are superior to women? Things need to change and the best way would be for the church to fall over, disintegrate and self-combust. IMHO.
